JAANE Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) sets forth how Z Inc. (“Company”, “we”, or “us”) collects, uses, and manages the personal information of users (“Users”) of the service “JAANE” (“Service”).
This Policy applies to all Users of the Service, including those registered as message recipients for the “Future Message” feature.
We handle all personal data in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, including Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information (“APPI”) and the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) of the European Union, and we are committed to protecting Users’ privacy.
Please read this Policy carefully before using the Service.
The definitions of terms used herein follow those of the APPI.
“Personal Information” refers to information that can identify a specific individual (including “personal data” as defined in Article 4 of the GDPR).

1.Categories of Personal Information Collected

In the course of providing the Service, we may collect the following categories of personal information directly from Users or indirectly from senders of Future Messages:

  • Profile information: name, date of birth, gender, occupation, etc.
  • Contact information: email address, telephone number, physical address, etc.
  • User-generated content: text, images, videos, audio, and other content entered within the Service that can identify a specific individual.
  • Device information: IP address, cookies, advertising identifiers, and log data.
  • Location information (only with the User’s consent).
  • Payment information: bank account details, credit card information, and other financial data.

Sensitive Personal Information

As a general rule, we do not collect the following categories of sensitive personal information, except with explicit consent of the data subject or when required by law:

  • Racial or ethnic origin
  • Political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs
  • Social status
  • Medical history
  • Genetic or biometric data used to uniquely identify a natural person
  • Criminal records or victim information
  • Membership in labor unions
  • Sexual orientation or sex life
  • Any other data designated under the APPI Enforcement Order as requiring special care to prevent unjust discrimination, prejudice, or disadvantage

2.Purpose and Legal Basis for Processing

We use collected personal information for the following purposes, under the corresponding legal bases:

3.User Rights

Users have the right, in accordance with applicable laws and our prescribed procedures, to request:

  • disclosure, correction, addition, or deletion of their personal data;
  • suspension or erasure of use;
  • notification of purposes of use;
  • receipt of their data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format (data portability); and
  • objection to processing of their personal data.

If processing is based on consent, Users may withdraw their consent at any time.

We may decline requests to the extent permitted by applicable law.

4.Data Retention Period

We will delete personal information within a reasonable period after the User’s withdrawal from the Service, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

5.International Data Transfers

We may transfer collected personal data to countries outside the User’s jurisdiction.
In such cases, we will implement appropriate safeguards as required under applicable data protection laws to ensure an adequate level of protection.

6.Disclosure of Personal Data to Third Parties

We will not disclose Users’ personal data to third parties without consent, except in the following cases:

  • When required by law
  • When necessary to protect life, body, or property
  • When providing to contractors under a confidentiality agreement
  • When providing in connection with business succession (e.g., merger, corporate split, or transfer)

7.Security Measures

We take necessary and appropriate security measures to protect personal information.

8.Right to Lodge a Complaint

Users may lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in their country of residence, in accordance with applicable law.

9.Use of Analytics Tools

We use “Google Analytics” provided by Google LLC to analyze usage trends and improve our Service.
Google Analytics may collect data such as advertising identifiers (IDFA for iOS, advertising ID for Android) and similar technologies.
These data are collected anonymously and do not identify individual Users.
Users can disable the use of advertising identifiers at any time through their device settings (typically found under “Privacy” or “Ads”).

10.Advertising Services

We use “Google AdMob,” a third-party advertising service provided by Google LLC.
AdMob may collect advertising identifiers (IDFA, advertising ID, etc.) to display personalized ads.
These identifiers are not associated with any personally identifiable information.
Users may opt out of personalized advertising by adjusting their device’s privacy or ad settings.
Even if personalized ads are disabled, general ads may still appear.

We may revise this Policy as necessary.
If any modification materially affects Users’ rights or obligations, we will provide notice in accordance with applicable laws and, where required, obtain consent.
